Summer Programmes in Japan
Besides the one-year exchange programmes, students may also participate in the summer programmes described below. These programmes have been established with the assistance of various Japanese individuals and organizations.

- Kobe University: Summer Programme in Japanese Language and Culture
- Nagoya University: Short-term Japanese language programme, Summer
- Soka University: Summer intensive Japanese course
- Tokyo University of Foreign Studies: Short Stay Summer Programme
Soka University: Summer intensive Japanese course
Time and Duration: | 3 weeks in June |
No. of Places: | 10 students (for students who have completed JAPN 2088, or equivalent) |
Location: | Soka University is located in Hachioji-shi, outskirt of Tokyo area, which is around 45-minute to Shinjuku by train. |
Activities: | Participants will attend a three-week intensive Japanese language course, with around 2 to 3 hours of classes every weekday. The aim of the programme is to enhance participants’ knowledge of Japanese gramma and overall understanding of the language, as well as listening and speaking skills. Students will reside in accommodation provided by the University and will be invited to participate a day trip at the weekend. |
Tuition fee: Cost (for 2014) |
Yen 100,000 (accommodation inclusive). Participants have to bear the cost of airfare to/from Tokyo and daily expenses. |
